A new recall has been issued by Creation Gardens, Inc., a Louisville, Ky., establishment that has decided to recall “approximately 22,832 pounds of raw ground beef and beef primal cut products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157: H7.” The recall is a big deal because the company supplies beef to many restaurants throughout Louisville, and more than “1,500 restaurants in Lexington; Evansville, Ind.; Nashville; and Cincinnati.”

So how can consumers tell if they have one of these recalled beef products? Well, the products were “produced on May 31, June 1 and June 2, 2017,” and “bear establishment number “EST. 7914” inside the USDA mark of inspection.” According to the FSIS, the recalled products were “shipped to food service locations in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.”
Because E. coli is a potentially deadly bacterium, consumers “who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.” Instead, they should be thrown out or returned for a refund. Symptoms of the disease include “dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps two to eight days after exposure.” According to USDA officials, “most individuals recover in a week.”
Those with questions about the recall can contact Rob Webber, at (1-800-600-8510). So far, Creation Gardens has not returned “multiple phone calls requesting comment.”
