Harbor Freight Tools is recalling certain swivel seats that may break when in use.
Earlier this month, a recall was issued for certain Pittsburgh Automotive-branded pneumatic roller seats. Why? Well, it turns out the swivel seats are prone to breaking while in use. Already, Harbor Freight Tools has received 96 reports of the “seat weld breaking, including ten reports of minor injuries, including bruises from users falling from the seat.”
According to the recall notice, the affected swivel seats are “red with a 15 to 20-inch pneumatic lift range and have a black storage tray located above the wheels.” The Product Registration Number is CA-44417 and is printed on the bottom of the seat’s storage tray. The swivel seats were sold in Harbor Freight Tools stores across the country from July 2014 to September 2021 for $30. About 478,800 seats are included in the recall. However, the recall only includes swivel seats with the following UPC numbers:
For now, consumers who have the seats should stop using them and reach out to Harbor Freight Tools for a full refund or replacement. Harbor Freight is also working on contacting any known purchasers.
