Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed in Fatal Sunnyvale Construction Site Accident

An accident at a Sunnyvale construction site has prompted a wrongful death lawsuit against “Level 10 Construction, two subcontractors, and the property owner” in charge of overseeing the site where a construction worker fell to his death. The lawsuit itself was filed by the man’s wife, Irma Vargas, in Santa Clara County Superior Court, and is seeking damages for “emotional distress, wrongful death, negligent survival and premises liability from Level 10 Construction, Webcor Builders, Alamillo Rebar Inc. and Central Wolfe LLC.”

FDA Clears Bair Hugger Patient Warming Device for Use

What do you get when you blow hot air around a surgical patient? If you’re 3M Co., the maker of the Bair Hugger Forced Air Warming Device, you get over 2,600 lawsuits. You also get a letter from the FDA telling healthcare providers that the device is actually cleared for use. The Bair Hugger was designed to “promote post-surgical healing and cut down on infections by maintaining a patient’s body temperature in surgery.”





Handi-Craft Company Recalls 23,000 Bottles of Natural Bottle and Dish Soap

When parents invest in products designed to keep their children safe, they do so with the expectation that those products will actually work. Unfortunately, that’s not always to case. For example, Handi-Craft just issued a recall of “23,000 bottles of Dr. Brown’s Natural Bottle & Dish Soap” because it might contain bacteria that is harmful to children. According to the recall notice, exposure to the harmful bacteria “poses a risk of respiratory and other infections in immunocompromised individuals.”
