Macy’s Will Pay $75K to Settle Disability Discrimination Lawsuit

After experiencing disability discrimination, a former Macy’s employee was recently awarded $75,000 to settled the lawsuit they filed against the popular retailer. The lawsuit was originally filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and in it the federal agency “charged Macy’s with firing an asthmatic employee, rather than excuse a one-day absence the employee needed to address emergency complications arising from her disability.” As a result of Macy’s misconduct, the EEOC claimed the retailer “violated the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).”


Family Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit After Girl Dies in School Bus Fire

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by the family of a girl “who died in a school bus fire” in Iowa. The suit itself was filed against the Riverside Community School District and alleges wrongful death and negligence. But what happened? Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed by Family of Boy Who Drowned at Camp

Losing a child before their time is something no parent should ever have to experience. Sadly, it happens often and just as often wrongful death lawsuits are filed as a result. For example, the family of a five-year-old boy who drowned while at a summer camp recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit. The tragic accident occurred in July 2017 at Camp Cricket at the Cochran Mill Nature Center. According to the lawsuit and police reports from the time, the boy, Benjamin ‘Kamau’ Hosch III, “was missing for 45 minutes before anyone realized he was gone.” His body was eventually found in a pond by police who had shown up to help search for him.
