A recall was issued yesterday for more than 63,000 Fisher-Price “motorized infant seats after receiving 36 reports of the product overheating and one report of a fire starting in the seat’s motor housing.” While there have been no injuries reported so far, Fisher-Price isn’t taking any chances, and decided to issue a “fast track” recall of the product, “meaning that the company is committed to working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to remove the recalled product as quickly as possible.”

So what exactly is being recalled? The specific product is the Fisher-Price Soothing Motion Seat, but only seats with the following model numbers are included in the recall: CMR35, CMR36, CMR37, and DYH22. Additionally, the “Smart Connect Soothing Motion Seats with model numbers CMR39” are also included.
The seats, which “bounce, sway, vibrate, and play music and nature sounds,” were “manufactured in China and sold nationwide at stores in the U.S.,” including Target, Toys ‘R Us, BuyBuy Baby, Walmart, and Amazon between November 2015 and October 2017.
