Do you own an Instant Pot Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker? If so, this recall notice is for you. After receiving complaints about the particular product overheating and melting, Instant Pot, a “multi-purpose cookware company,” decided to issue a recall for the multicookers. The recalled product is “similar to a slow cooker, but with more functions, including roasting, stewing, baking, steaming,” according to Instant Pot.

According to a post the company uploaded to their Facebook Community page, the recall affects products with “batch codes of 1728, 1730, 1731, 1734, and 1746.” The post added that the batch codes “can be found on a silver label on the underside of the cooker, on the bottom right side of the label.” It’s important to note, also, that all the affected products were only sold at Walmart stores.

What should consumers do if they have one of the recalled products, though? For starters, Instant Pot is advising consumers to stop using the multicooker immediately, and issued a statement saying:

“We want you to know that we take any problem with our products extremely seriously as safety and quality are our primary concern, and we are working cooperatively with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. We anticipate providing updated information and next steps regarding receiving a replacement Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker within the next few weeks.”

Further questions and concerns can be directed to the company’s customer care line at 1-800-828-7280, extension 2, according to the recall notice.
