If you’re familiar with Planet Fitness, you may know the gym is popular for its affordable pricing and judgment-free workout environment. In fact, the gym’s ‘Judgement-free zone’ slogan is something that Planet Fitness prides itself on, according to CEO Chris Rondeau. The slogan is also one of the reasons why the brand is growing so fast and why it has been “adding 200 new clubs a year,” according to Rondeau.

A lawsuit was recently filed against the New York City Police Department alleging a pregnant woman was “forced to wear handcuffs on her wrists and ankles during labor.” The woman is referred to as Jane Doe throughout the suit and claims that, despite the protests of her medical staff, the “NYPD refused to remove the shackles, compelling Ms. Doe to labor in excruciating pain and forcing doctors to examine Ms. Doe with her feet and hands bound.”

Family Files Wrongful Death Suit After Fatal Danbury Police Chase

The family of Tiffany Fitzgerald filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Danbury and a former police officer, Jamie Hodge. Back in 2016, Fitzgerald was killed during a car chase with Hodge. It should be noted, however, that Fitzgerald was a passenger, not the driver. The wrongful death suit was filed late last month in New Haven and argues that Hodge, “who had only been on the force for one year, should never have chased the stolen vehicle on the streets of Danbury.” During the chase, the 1997 Ford Explorer that Fitzgerald was riding in crashed, throwing her from the vehicle.

FDA Links Recent Romaine Lettuce Recall to California

By now, you’re probably aware that there was a massive recall of romaine lettuce announced earlier this week, right before the Thanksgiving holiday. Everything from “whole heads of lettuce, boxes of precut lettuce, hearts of romaine to salad mixes that contain romaine” were recalled over concerns that the products were potentially contaminated with E. coli. Fortunately, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced earlier today that it has found the source of the contamination.

Family outings are supposed to be fun and a chance to reconnect and bond with each other. However, for one family, a family outing to MGM National Harbor took a devastating turn when Zynae Green, a 7-year-old girl, was electroshocked and seriously injured. Now, her family wants justice and filed a lawsuit earlier this week in Prince George’s County, Maryland, five months after the incident occurred.

Lawsuit Filed After Kindergarten Girl Sustains Burns During a Fall in Her School Cafeteria

When most kids visit their cafeteria for their lunch break, they do so with the expectation that they will be able to eat their lunch in peace, without fear of getting hurt. However, one kindergartener in Tennessee found out that the unexpected can even happen in the lunch room. According to a lawsuit recently filed in Shelby County, a kindergarten student was “burned so badly by food at a Tennessee school that she had to be treated at a local hospital.” The suit itself was filed by the girl’s mother and names “Shelby County Schools as the defendant.”

Pavilion Park Central was where the slide was.
