He attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee and was a four-year letterman on the Rhodes College football team, earning CAC All-Conference honors his senior year on the only Rhodes College football team to be selected to the NCAA Division III playoffs. Ken graduated with a bachelors degree in history from Rhodes College in 1989. He attended the University of Arkansas School of Law and graduated in 1993 with a juris doctorate degree.
