JDS Tolleson Inc., a meat processing company, issued a recall earlier today for 6.5 million pounds of raw beef products. The products, sold under a variety of different brands, “may be contaminated with salmonella,” according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Earlier this week, the Boy Scouts of America issued a recall of an estimated 110,000 neckerchief slides “that have been found to contain dangerous levels of lead.” The recall was posted on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s (CPSC) website on Wednesday, and claim the four models of the recalled neckerchief slides “have been shown to contain levels of lead that exceed the federal lead content ban within the slides’ colored enamel.”
If you’re a fan of beef jerky, listen up. Earlier this week, Junior’s Smokehouse Processing Plant out of El Camp, Texas issued a recall for “approximately 690 pounds of ready-to-eat teriyaki beef jerky products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of hard metal.”

Well, earlier this week, Cargill Meat Solutions announced a new recall of 132,606 pounds of ground meat as a result of a deadly e.coli outbreak. Dog owners beware. Bravo Packing, Inc., a New Jersey-based pet food company recently issued a recall for its Performance Dog frozen raw pet food products due to potential salmonella contamination. The company issued the recall shortly after a sample of the Performance Dog food tested positive for salmonella during an FDA inspection.

Earlier this week, Bob Evans Farms issued a recall of 46,734 pounds of sausage links over concerns they may contain “extraneous materials, including hard plastic,” according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
If you own a John Deere utility vehicle, you may be interested in a recent recall issued by the company. Earlier this week, John Deere announced a recall of more than 4,000 Gator utility vehicles sold in the U.S. after the company discovered a “hardware problem that could cause crashes.”
If you’re planning a kitchen renovation or update in the near future, you may want to check the label on some of the products you plan to use. Earlier this week, Rust-Oleum issued a recall of it’s “black satin-colored countertop coating due to excess levels of lead.” According to the recall notice, only the “one-quart (32 fluid ounce) containers of Rust-Oleum black satin countertop coating with product number 263209 and batch code P7612D” are affected. Concerned consumers can find the product number and batch code printed on the bottom of the cans.

Earlier this week, Wayne Farms, LLC issued a recall of “approximately 438,960 pounds of frozen, fully cooked chicken products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically metal pieces,” according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The company is based in Decatur, Alabama.
