Parents beware. BSN Sports recently issued a recall of “tens of thousands of rubber critter toys in the shapes of animals” amid concerns that they may be contaminated with “excessive lead levels in their orange and yellow paint.” According to the recall notice, the Farmers Branch-based company sold the “31,200 recalled units nationally through catalogs and online at Amazon.com, Athleticconnection.com, Bsnsports.com, Esportsonline.com and Usgames.com” between February 2017 to June 2018. The recall was announced earlier this week by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.


Cargill Beef Recalls 25,000 Pounds of Beef Over E. coli Concerns

Are you planning a big Labor Day cookout? You may want to double check the label on your ground beef. According to a recent recall notice, Cargill Meat Solutions recalled more than 25,000 pounds of ground beef products due to “possible contamination with E. coli.” According to the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the Cargill beef was transported to warehouses throughout Colorado and California from a “Cargill plant in Fort Morgan, Colorado.”


32 Children’s Medicine’s Recalled Over Microbial Contamination

Earlier this week, King Bio issued a recall of “almost a year’s worth of 32 homeopathic children’s medicines that claim to treat everything from stomachaches to bed wetting.” According to the recall notice posted on the FDA’s website, the company said, “a small percentage of our products produced between 08/01/2017 and 04/2018 have tested positive for microbial contamination.”

Earlier today, the makers of an “over-the-counter nasal spray sold at CVS stores in Queens and other parts of the country” issued a voluntary recall due to concerns of bacterial contamination. The manufacturer of the nasal spray is Product Quest Manufacturers and the specific product included in the recall is the CVS Health 12-Hour Sinus Relief Nasal Mist. According to the notice, the popular spray was “found to contain Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a micro bacteria that could put individuals with compromised immune systems at risk of a potentially life-threatening infection.”

According to a recall notice, “more than 145,000 half-gallons of the popular Blue Diamond Vanilla Almond Breeze nut milk, manufactured by HP Hood LLC, have been voluntarily recalled from 28 states because the product accidentally contains actual milk.”

Hungry Man Frozen Dinner Joins Growing List of Recalled Products Over Salmonella Concerns

Another product was just recalled over salmonella fears. This time, the product in question is a Hungry Man frozen meal produced by Pinnacle Foods, Inc. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued the public health alert earlier this week amid concerns the product “may have been contaminated with Salmonella from whey powder that has also been recalled.” The potentially tainted whey powder “is an FDA-regulated product that is being voluntarily recalled by the producer,” according to the notice.
