As parents, we can never be too careful about the products we use with or around our children. From cribs and strollers to baby gates and car seats, there are so many products on the market nowadays to help keep children safe. The last thing any parent would expect is for one of these products to malfunction or pose a safety hazard. Alas, safety recalls are more common than many realize, and just recently one was issued for a popular car-seat manufactured by “Diono, formerly known as Sunshine Kids Juvenile.”

Alas, safety recalls are more common than many realize, and just recently one was issued for a popular car-seat manufactured by “Diono, formerly known as Sunshine Kids Juvenile.”
So far the company has voluntarily recalled nearly 519,052 car-seats “for not properly protecting children during a crash.” The issue was discovered during a “crash simulation with a test dummy.” During the simulation, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration discovered that “children over 65 pounds using the car seats could be more likely to get a chest injury during a crash.”
At the moment, only forward-facing car seats manufactured “after November 25, 2013,” are included in the recall. Specific models include the following:
- Radian R100
- Radian R120
- Radian RXT
- Olympia
- Pacifia
- Rainier
To identify whether your child’s car-seat is included in the recall, simply check the “manufacturer’s label on the car seat to find the date” it was manufactured.
