Civil Lawsuit Targets Gwinnett County Walmart After Fatal Shooting

The wife of a man killed outside a Walmart store in Gwinnett County filed a wrongful death lawsuit earlier this week against the popular retailer and the man who shot and killed her husband, Fadil Delkic. According to the civil suit, which was filed in Gwinnett County State Court by Delkic’s wife, Bahra Delkic, Fadil was fatally shot on August 19 after a dispute with Troy Hunte, “who has since been charged with murder.”


Portland Rental Management Company Forks Over $105K to Settle Lawsuit Filed by Former Tenant

A&G Rental Management, a rental management company in Portland recently agreed to settle a lawsuit filed by a former tenant for $105,000. The suit was filed earlier this year and alleged that the former tenant, Aleina Langford, lived in “deplorable living conditions that included hypodermic needles, rats and overflowing garbage at her Southeast Portland apartment complex.” To make matters worse, her attorney, Michael Fuller, claimed the rental management company sent a “collection agency after her seeking more than $1,500 in so-called bogus charges.”


Louisville Metro Police at the Center of a Federal Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Earlier this year on April 24, Demonjhea Jordan fled the scene of a robbery and allegedly pointed his handgun at police officers in a Portland neighborhood. In response, one of those Louisville Metro Police officers “fired his gun through the window of his squad car,” killing Jordan, who was 21-years-old at the time. As a result of the fatal shooting, Jordan’s mother and father filed a wrongful death lawsuit earlier this month in Jefferson County Court, though it was moved to federal court yesterday.






Denver Law Firm Agrees to Settle Pregnancy Discrimination Lawsuit Filed by Former Employee

The Bendenelli Law Firm in Denver, Colorado recently agreed to pay a former legal assistant $30,000, ending a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit. According to the U.S. Equal Employment Commission (EEOC), the law firm hired the former legal assistant, Jennifer Rodriquez, back in January 2017. After only 10 days on the job, “she told the law firm she was pregnant and she was fired the next day.”

A lawsuit filed earlier this month against Spotify accuses the music company of partaking in “systemic gender discrimination, defamation, equal pay violation, and of firing a former employee to cover up ethical lapses by her superior.” The suit was filed in New York Supreme Court by a former female sales executive, Hong Perez.
