California Nonprofit Wants Cancer-Warning Labels on Coffee

Many might be surprised to learn that there has been a long-running dispute in California over whether or not morning cups of coffee should come with cancer warnings. From packaged coffee beans to coffee-house lattes and mochas, one non-profit, the Council for Education and Research on Toxics (CERT), believes the public should be made aware of “the cancer-causing chemical acrylamide” floating around in their cups of joe. In its quest to warn the public, CERT filed a lawsuit against more than 90 companies, including Starbucks, retail shops, and grocery stores.

The EEOC Files Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Against Coffee Company, Massimo Zanetti

If you thought major news networks like Fox News were the only ones being accused of sexual harassment these days, think again. A new lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) claims “Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA, Inc. violated federal civil rights law when it failed to stop sexual harassment of a female employee and then fired her because she complained about the harassment.”

After the Tragic Drowning of a Toddler, Mother Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit

For many parents, it’s difficult to imagine a world without their child(ren) in it. For one woman back in 2015, though, that is exactly what she had to face when news of her son’s tragic death reached her. In August 2015, Jenean Winston was informed that the body of her 3-year-old son, Dylan Walsh, had been found in Lake Tobesofkee “near a dock behind the Fish and Pig restaurant.” Two years have passed, and now Winston has decided to file a wrongful death lawsuit against her son’s father, Mark Walsh.
