Ransier’s Many Run-Ins Culminate In A Life-Sentence
Charles Robert Ransier, 56, was wearing only a pair of jeans when he was found by a state trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety with a blob of melted candle wax on his chest back on March 23, 2015. His truck was parked near a children’s slide. The officer had noticed the plastic slide seemed to be out of place alongside an access road, and pulled over to check it out. Perhaps even stranger was the location of the man’s truck right beside the play equipment — especially after his plate pulled the information of a man with a long history of run-ins with the law and odd sex offenses.
When the trooper approached Ransier’s truck, he discovered the man had a little girl’s swimsuit “laid out perfectly” on the driver’s side floorboard inside the truck along with a tube of lubricant. Ransier had also tried to break a syringe he had in his hand as the officer approached. The trooper requested permission to search the rest of the vehicle and also discovered an assortment of other quirky items, including children’s clothing, candy, balloons, Barbie dolls, baby oil, Viagra, Extenze male enhancement, rope, duct tape and a cooler with frozen cucumbers. He made Ransier hand over the syringe and told him he was under arrest. Ransier resisted, but the officer was able to take the man into custody. The syringe was sent to a lab and tested positive for traces of meth. Ransier had been previously convicted for nine felony offenses, mostly those involving drugs, and had a history of deviant sex acts’ with children’s clothing and vegetables. The meth, swimsuit and cucumbers confirmed Ransier was again up to no good.
The jury took less than as half hour to convict Ransier, sentencing him to life in prison for tampering with evidence plus 29 years for possessing less than a gram of methamphetamine. The jury also felt that Ransier should incur a $10,000 fine because he had such a long history of run-ins with the law and chronic re-offending. One of these run-ins included an odd “deviant sex act involving a squash” in which Ransier was found running around naked on Word Ranch Road in New Braunfels in 2012. Two years later, in 2014, the man was again found without clothes, sporting only women’s stockings. He was at a baseball field engaging in yet another curious sex act with a vegetable.
Back in 1995, Ransier was charged manslaughter related to the death of an Arizona state trooper and served 15 years in prison. Ransier’s meth habit was involved in that particular incident as well. He was driving at a high rate of speed and ran into the officer as he attempted to pull him over. The jury’s quick decision to impose a life sentence will ensure Ransier will have plenty of time to sober up this time around and hopefully take a long, hard look at the poor decisions he’s made. Parents can also rest assured that the streets will be a little safer.
